Tiger Eyes

September 16, 2020

Dear Commerce Students, Parents, and Staff:

Last Night at the Board of Education Meeting, the Board of Education voted to return to in-person, on-site instruction when the Oklahoma State Department of Education's COVID-19 Risk Color Coded Map for Ottawa County is Green, Yellow, Orange 1, or Orange 2.

The Board voted to use an A/B schedule when the map is Red.

The Board voted to continue with extra curricular activities, including sports, regardless of the color of the map.

This means, Commerce Public Schools will resume in-person, on-site instruction, with Group B on Thursday and Friday of this week. The schedule for next week will be determined when the color coded map is release on Friday around 11:00 a.m. We will be following safety protocols of sanitation, screening, masking, hand-washing, and social distancing when possible.  We will be following guidance from the Center for Disease Control, the Oklahoma State Department of Health, and the Ottawa County Health Department regarding isolation and quarantine. There will be no school in Commerce on Monday, September 21, 2020.

Sincerely,

Jimmy R. Haynes
Superintendent
