School will be starting Monday, August 24, 2020 on an A/B schedule due to the Oklahoma State Department of Health COVID-19 Alert System Color Coded Risk Phase of Orange Level 1.
Students in Group A will be doing in-person instruction on Monday and Tuesday with distance learning on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Students in Group B will be distance learning on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday with in-person instruction on Thursday and Friday.
If needed, please call Alexander Elementary School or contact the student’s teacher to find out if you are A/B. A/B lists for Middle School and High School will be posted on the front door of the schools and sent to the student’s email.
Parents are encouraged to transport their children to school. Bus routes will be the same as last year with the following exception. Bus transportation will not be provided for students that reside inside of the area bordered by Mickey Mantle Blvd - Main Street - 6th Street - E Street. All bus drivers and riders will be required to wear a face covering. Students will sit with their own families and in assigned seats.
Masks are required for teachers/staff. Masks are required for all students. Masks are not required while participating in physical activity. Visitors are restricted. We will follow all health orders and protocols, and adhere to district policies (screenings, distancing, handwashing). Buildings and campuses are not available for activities where social distancing is not possible.
School doors at all sites will open at 7:45 a.m. PK students will enter through the gate beside the PK classrooms, Kindergarten - 2nd grade students will enter through the front door of the building, 3-5 grade students will enter through the gym doors. All students are to proceed directly to their classrooms. Breakfast will be served in the classrooms. Classes begin at 8:05 a.m. at all sites.
Meals may be picked up at the schools between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. for virtual/distance learning students. At the present time, the cost of lunches will be categorical, free, reduced, or full pay. On Wednesday meals will be delivered to the same sites as in the summer. The sites will be posted in a separate communication.
Elementary students will be dismissed at 3:00 p.m. Middle School and High School students will be dismissed at 3:07 p.m.
