In consideration of early morning extreme temperatures and unsafe road conditions, Commerce Schools will be transitioning to distance learning tomorrow, January 17th, 2024.
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and we believe this decision will help ensure everyone's well-being. All 6-12 grade students are expected to participate in online classes and visit google classroom for each course to get their daily lessons. Elementary students were given paper packets earlier and need to complete Day 1 of that packet tomorrow. Teachers will provide instructions and support through virtual platforms and can be emailed if needed.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during these challenging weather conditions. Stay warm, stay safe, and let's make the most out of our virtual learning day.
We will see everyone back in school on Thursday, January 18th.

🌟 A BIG thank you to our amazing Commerce Public Schools' School Board! 🙌 Your dedication and hard work make a world of difference for our students and community. 👏💙 We appreciate you! 📚🏫 #SchoolBoardAppreciation #ThankYouSchoolBoard #CommerceProud

The Commerce High School Quiz Bowl team attended area competition on Jan. 13, 2024. There were eight schools present: Preston, Colcord, Choteau-Maize, Kansas, Oklahoma Union, Caney Valley, Commerce, and Adair. The top two schools qualify for the state tournament. Commerce lost our first game to Preston in the first round. Commerce defeated Choteau-Maize in the second round. In the third round, Commerce lost in sudden death to Oklahoma Union. Commerce finished in sixth place. Mr. McKibben said he is very proud of the team. Commerce won one more game than last year’s area competition and missed the fourth round of the competition by only one question. After four rounds of questions against Oklahoma Union, we were tied. We had to go to sudden death and lost on the first question of sudden death. Preston ended up first, Caney Valley second, Adair third, and Oklahoma Union fourth. Caney Valley, Adair, and Oklahoma Union are from our region. Special thanks to Coach Simmons for driving. The following students attended: Sheridan Bailey, team captain, Mykahl Dunn, Sophia Olds, Antonio Medina, Daniel Aguilera, Kyl Frantz, Chrysanna Harter, Dominic Harter, Abygail Jennings, and Brodie Simmons. Commerce is fielding a very competitive team this year. Our conference tournament is on March 2. Commerce will be hosting this year’s conference tournament. The following schools are coming: VInita, Welch, and Miami.
