End of year schedule...

Eight talented Commerce students were selected to join the 41st PSU 4-State Honor Band, chosen from high schools across the four-state area out of more than 200 participants.
After a full day of rehearsals, meeting fellow musicians, and preparing challenging music, they capped off the evening with an unforgettable two-hour concert. Their selection and performance are a direct reflection of the hard work and dedication they’ve shown all year. Congratulations to these outstanding student musicians!

🚨 SAFETY ALERT FOR PARENTS & STUDENTS 🚨
A dangerous trend called “Chromebook Smoke” is circulating on TikTok. It involves inserting pencil graphite or metal objects into Chromebook USB ports, which can cause:
🔥 Fires or overheating
💻 Chromebook battery explosions
☠️ Toxic smoke exposure
🚑 Risk of serious injury
We know you care about your child’s safety, and we do too. That’s why we’re asking all parents to talk with their students about the risks and the real-life consequences of this behavior — far beyond social media likes.
📱 Important to know:
🔹This damage is not covered by chromebook insurance
🔹Families will be charged the $250 replacement cost
🔹This is destruction of school property and may lead to disciplinary action or legal consequences

AES Track Meet Rescheduled
Due to cold, damp weather and the chance of rain, the Alexander Elementary Track Meet, originally set for May 8, has been moved to Monday, May 12.
Thanks for your flexibility—we're looking forward to a great day!

Exciting News!
The Mickey Mantle statue outside Mickey Mantle Field is currently undergoing restoration. We’re proud to preserve this important piece of Commerce history for future generations to enjoy.
A big thank you to Carol Calcagno for recommending the outstanding company handling the restoration work!

ALL SPORTS & BAND PHYSICALS!
Tuesday, May 6 — 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM
$10 and a physical form signed by a parent!
Physical forms were passed out last week to all athletes and band students in the middle and high school. Students currently in grades 5–11 (who will be in grades 6–12 next year) will be bused to the high school gym throughout the day if they have their form and $10.
This is the fastest and easiest way to make sure athletes and band students are ready for next school year!

The Breakfast Club (Commerce Edition)
In the movie, five students from different worlds learn they have more in common than they thought. In our schools, these three already know that every kid comes with a different story—and they show up for them all.
Whether it’s encouragement, structure, or just a hallway fist bump, they make sure every student feels seen.
Happy National Principals’ Day to:
Mr. Trevor Brough, Alexander Elementary School Principal
Mr. Rusty Barker, Commerce High School Principal
Mr. John Medlin, Commerce Middle School Principal
Thanks for leading with heart, humor, and a and a PhD in ‘You can’t make this stuff up.'
