Mykahl Dunn was our Commerce High School representative to 2024 Boys State held at Rogers State University in Claremore, Oklahoma. Oklahoma American Legion Boys State is an intense week of non-partisan leadership, government, and patriotism sponsored by the American Legion. The 310 delegates were separated into 9 cities and Mykahl was voted Mayor of his city, Bryant City and helped lead them to receive the senior councelors' choice award for Bryant . His participation earned him a $1500 scholarship per semester to attend Rogers State University.
Great job representing Commerce Mykahl!
Go Tigers!

Dear Club Comet parents,
Due to tomorrow's weather forecast, we will not be going to the splash pad, as planned. We will just plan on having a fun day of indoor activities at the elementary school. Thanks for being flexible and for letting us borrow your kiddos this week!

Dear Club Comet parents,
We had a great first day of Club Comet! It was so good to see everyone. Just a couple of housekeeping notes: We will not begin until 8:00 am. Therefore, there will not be any staff there until 7:45 am. Please do not drop your kiddos off before this time. Also, at dismissal, we bring the kids outside so you do not have to leave your car. We will dismiss bus riders first and once the bus pulls away, we will bring the rest out the front doors. Cannot wait to see you tomorrow!

Happy Memorial Day CPS family!! This message is a reminder that Club Comet's summer program begins tomorrow. Breakfast will begin at 8:00 am and the program will end at 12:30 pm. If your student is on the bus route, you should have already received your bus stop and time information via email. We can't wait to see all of your shining faces!

I would like to take a moment to brag on our staff and thank them for their action today. Today a tornado warning came on very quickly and our staff went into action. We practice drills throughout the year and they take those drills seriously. When the warning happened our students and staff were tucked safely away in our safe room within minutes.
As you probably know, this is teacher appreciation week. I appreciated them greatly before, but today their actions cry out for even more appreciation. Thank you teachers. Thank you staff. Thank you administrators. Thank you students and thank you parents for entrusting us with your greatest treasures. We take the responsibility very seriously.
I want to take this opportunity to remind the community, our safe rooms are here for you. We had several community members take advantage of the shelter with our students and staff today and that is great. We absolutely want you here and safe. With that said, pets have never been allowed, yet we have people continue to try each time. Please understand we all love our pets, but they are not allowed in our safe rooms. We have students with allergies, students with animal anxiety, and students that are just scared because of the situation they are in. We will not add to that anxiety with animals. Our priority is and always will be the safety of our students and staff.
Thank you for your support of Commerce Schools. If you haven’t taken the time, please take the time to thank your teacher and staff friends. They really are rock stars.
Steve Moss
Superintendent

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to all of our dedicated Teachers! Thank you for all that you do.

With the threat of severe weather this evening the high school powder puff football game has been moved to Monday, May 13, 2024. Please be weather-aware this evening.
As a reminder, our tornado shelters will open when/if a Tornado Warning is issued.
The Middle School shelter is located on Commerce Street North of the Middle School building.
The High School shelter is located south of the high school building, behind the main building. The easiest access comes from parking behind the gym at CHS.
The Elementary School shelter is located west of the main elementary school building.
Stay safe! Thank you.
