We are proud to announce the hiring of our new Varsity Boys Head Basketball Coach. Jace Pratt was hired at a special school board meeting at 4pm today by the Commerce Board of Education. Jace, his wife Ashley, and their Havapoo, Duke are excited to become members of the Commerce Schools’ community.
Jace Pratt comes to Commerce directly from NSU in Tahlequah where he has served the past 2 seasons as the Boys Basketball Graduate Assistant.
Pratt played basketball at Eastern Oklahoma State and shot 46 percent at the arc in 2019, which was in the top three in NJCAA play. He was a letterwinner at Sperry High School, where he graduated in 2018 and was an OCA and OBCA All-State selection in basketball his senior year of high school. Pratt led the Sperry Pirates basketball team to two state tournaments during his high school career. Coach Pratt holds the OSSAA record for three-pointers in a game (14).
In May 2020, Pratt graduated with an Associate of Liberal Arts from Eastern Oklahoma. He also graduated in May 2022 from Northeastern State with a degree in General Studies. Jace will graduate from NSU with a Master of Education degree in early May 2024.
Jace brings a passion for basketball that is contagious and he is looking forward to meeting and coaching our young men. Jace will coach High School Boys Basketball, 7th and 8th Grade Boys Basketball, 6th Grade Boys Basketball and 6th Grade Track.

CHS instrumental students representing Commerce at the State Music Competition. Sophie Olds received a 2 rating on her clarinet solo. Mykahl Dunn, trombone, Betty Garza, flute, and Maggie Roher, trumpet relieved a 1 rating on solos. Great job by all.

Calling all soccer fans! We invite you to join us for our upcoming matches, where we will honor our senior players in a special presentation between the men's and women's games. Game one will begin at 5:30 PM. Please bring your friends and family to cheer on our teams and show support for our graduating players.
The CHS After Prom Committee would like to thank all of the individuals, businesses, and community members who helped make the 2024 After Prom a huge success! The students had a fun and safe night that included a hypnotist, 3 inflatables, a 360 photo booth, a selfie stand, crafts, tattoos, karaoke, cornhole, and lots of food. The students that attended enjoyed receiving and watching $8500 in cash prizes given to all who attended! Once again the Commerce community goes over and above for our students. Thank You!

Commerce Schools hosted a retirement reception for five great teachers before the school board meeting on 04/08/24. These teachers represent 149 years of experience in education and while we're happy for their accomplishment, they will be dearly missed by our students and staff. Congratulations to Pamela Catt, Ramona Boyd, Elizabeth Littlejohn, Mary Jane Barker, and Shellie Rhodes. Please join us in thanking and congratulating these wonderful educators.
A big thank you to local authorities, firemen and paramedics for putting on a mock crash for our high school students today.

The April 5th Wyandotte Track Meet is on our schedule as being hosted at Quapaw. The track meet will be held at Wyandotte tomorrow, instead of Quapaw. The meet will be for 6/7 and 8/9 boys and girls.

This Wednesday, April 3, 2024, will be our eighth Way 2 Go Wednesday. Students with 1 or fewer absences in the previous month and All A's and B's qualify for the OPTION of doing their work virtually on the first Wednesday of each month. Middle School Students who qualified for April will receive a note to take home to parents. High school students will receive an email from the office that they can show their parents for verification. If you have any questions, please call your school's office.
