2023-2024 CMS Basketball Schedule

Weekly Schedule of Events
The CHS academic team competed in regionals on Nov. 11. They had a strong showing and qualified for the area competition. The top four teams at regionals qualify for area competition. There were nine teams present. The teams competing were from Adair, Salina, Quapaw, Pawhuska, Oklahoma Union, Caney Valley, Commerce, Wyandotte, and Afton. The top four teams were 1st-Caney Valley, 2nd-Adair, 3rd-Oklahoma Union, and 4th-Commerce. Commerce had a very close battle with Oklahoma Union but came up short in the end. Mr McKibben is very proud of his team. The team includes the following: Noah Schmidt ( senior co-captain), Sheridan Bailey (senior co-captain), Abygail Jennings, Mykahl Dunn, Chrysanna Harter, Dominic Harter, Daniel Aguilera, Antonio Median, Kyl Frantz, Anja Barnstead, Elijah Lee, and Larisa Myrick (who acted as scorekeeper and timekeeper for competition rounds). The Area competition will be held on Jan. 13.

Wyandotte 6th Grade Basketball Tournament Schedule
This Wednesday, November 1, 2023, will be our third Way 2 Go Wednesday. Students with 1 or fewer absences in the previous month and All A's and B's qualify for the OPTION of doing their work virtually on the first Wednesday of each month. Middle School Students who qualified for November will receive a note to take home to parents. High school students will receive an email from the office that they can show their parents for verification. If you have any questions, please call your school's office.
Seniors: Bring your panel picture proof back to Mrs. Rhodes by November 12, and remember to pay Mrs. Ng your $10 for the panel. Retakes will be on November 14. Also, bring or email a baby picture and 2-3 flashback pictures to Mrs. Rhodes before Christmas Break. If you would like a senior picture other than your panel picture in the yearbook, Mrs. Rhodes will need that as soon as possible, but no later than March 29.
If your parents want to place a Senior Salute ad in the yearbook, ask them to contact Mrs. Rhodes. (srhodes@commercetigers.net). A quarter-page ad is $60, and a half-page ad is $90. The deadline for Senior Salute ads will be March 29.

Thank you to Miss Oklahoma, Sunny Day, for visiting with our CMS and CHS students today about the importance of staying away from drugs and alcohol. Miss Oklahoma also shared the story of her childhood and how she experienced bullying. She relayed the importance of being kind to others as well as making sure to tell adults if you witness someone being bullied.
