The speech team traveled to Haskell, Oklahoma on Saturday, Feb. 10th. Commerce participated in the 3A division. Elijah Lee and Kyl Frantz attended the tournament. Elijah participated in prose, and Kyl participated in poetry. Elijah made it to the semis; he barely missed finals by one place. Kyl made finals in poetry and received third place in 3A poetry. Kyl qualified for the regional tournament at Haskell on March 16th, 2024. Elijah and Kyl did quite well and represented Commerce superbly. This was the first speech tournament that Commerce has attended in several years and we’re proud of these young men for getting us back in the competitions. This week, the speech and drama team has been reading books at the elementary for “Read Across America”.
