🚨 Big shoutout to our incredible staff! 🚨

This morning, we made the tough decision to move prom from Williams Riverside back to our 🏫 high school gym. The main reason was clear—the high school has immediate access to a safe room, and safety always comes first.

While we all wanted that special off-campus experience, we put our students first. At 9:45 AM, a simple text went out to all Commerce staff—on their scheduled day off—promising hard work and zero extra pay… and they still showed up! 💪💙

Some staff headed to Williams Riverside to take everything down, while others came to the high school to begin setting up the gym. Two locations… one team working together.

In just a few hours ⏱️, everything was taken down, moved 30 minutes, and completely set back up—ready for our students tonight.

That’s the heart of Commerce Public Schools.
That’s dedication.
That’s putting kids first. 🐅

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who showed up and put in that sweat equity for our kids. We appreciate you more than you know!

Not everyone who helped is pictured here—the work was fast and furious. If we missed you in a photo, please know you were seen and are greatly appreciated.

⚠️ Severe Weather / Safe Room Information for Tonight ⚠️ With prom taking place at the high school this evening, we want to help our community plan ahead in case safe rooms are needed. 🕖 7:00–10:00 PM The high school safe room will be heavily occupied if needed due to prom. ➡️ Community members are encouraged to use the middle school or elementary school safe rooms during this time. 🕚 After 11:00 PM After-prom activities will be held at the middle school, and that safe room will be in use by students, staff, and parents overnight. ➡️ Community members should plan to use the high school or elementary school safe rooms after 11:00 PM. Our goal is to keep everyone safe while also accommodating school events. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Stay weather aware tonight and have a safe evening.

Prom Update: Due to severe weather forecasts tonight—high winds and hail—we’re relocating prom from Williams Riverside to the Commerce High School gym. Safety first, always. Staff are moving decorations and setting up the gym, where safe rooms are nearby. Though we wish we didn’t have to change, this ensures everyone’s safety. Walk-in will be at 6:15 PM, and prom begins at 7 PM, right on schedule—just at the high school gym. Thank you for understanding as we prioritize what’s best for our kids. See you tonight!
