Thanks to donations from The Kaleo Foundation of Oklahoma City, OK through Commerce First Baptist Church, Club Comet was able to treat all the students of Alexander Elementary School with a goody bag. Each bag contained snacks, drinks, and toys. We were blessed with many smiles and squeals of delight as the students received their bags. In honor of National Mentoring month, the City of Commerce recognized Club Comet with a mayoral proclamation and certificate at Alexander Elementary School. Pictured with Mayor Redden are Jason Dunn-Teacher, Amber Bonham-Site Coordinator, Linsey Cass, Angela Bachman, Stacy Moss-Director, Ramona Boyd-Teacher, and Chris Ibarra.
Thank you Club Comet for all you do in working with the young people in our community!

With COVID-19 increasing its presence in our community, we would like everyone to know about the steps we are taking at our schools to address the situation. Please be assured that our top priority is to maintain a safe environment for our staff and students.
We are increasing our daily disinfecting of frequently-touched surfaces – including doorknobs, handrails, restroom faucets, tables, desks, cafeterias and commonly handled areas. All classes have hand sanitizer available and it is also available in our school hallways and commons areas. We continue to use the classroom air purifiers and have replaced filters in all that have needed replaced.
We are asking you, parents, to please keep any child(ren) not feeling well home for their safety and the safety of others. We will call you to pick up your child if they are displaying symptoms. Our classes are currently working in a blended learning capacity with students at home continuing to work through Google Classroom and Google Meets. This new variant is very contagious, as we learned last week when we had to transition to virtual. We continue to HIGHLY encourage masks and hope that they help us stay in person during this current spike in infections.
Together we can keep our schools healthy and safe. Thank you for your assistance.

Commerce Public Schools will return to in-person instruction on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Masks are highly recommended during this time of high community spread.
